Must I visit Vanuatu to qualify for the program?

No, it is not necessary to be physically present. The full application process can be conducted remotely and there are no residency requirements.


Will it take long for me to get my passport and citizenship approval?

No. You can complete the entire process within 45–60 days.


Who can apply for the Vanuatu Citizenship by Investment?

People from any country can apply, with the exception of Yemen, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, and Syria. However, anyone from these countries can apply if they have lived outside their home countries for at least five years.


Who am I allowed to include in my citizenship application?

If you are the main applicant, you may include your spouse, children up to 30 years of age, and parents aged 50 or older.


Are applicants allowed to add more family members after they are granted citizenship?

Applicants can include more family members after receiving their citizenship, if they are eligible. However, you may be required to pay additional processing fees as proposed by the Vanuatu Citizenship by Investment law. Extra FIU checks may also be conducted on the new family members if they are adults.


What can I invest in as the main applicant?

The main applicant must make a non-refundable donation to the DSP. The applicant’s family structure determines the amount to be donated.


What methods are available for the submission of files and documents for the application?

We use a secure processing portal that enables all applicants to submit their files and documents online. You do not need to send any hard copies during the application phase.


Are there any due diligence tests or interviews for applicants?

A due diligence check will be conducted on the main applicant by the Vanuatu FIU. It is only after you have received FIU clearance that a complete Vanuatu citizenship application can be submitted. There are no physical interviews, but every Vanuatu citizenship applicant must be of good character and without any criminal record.


What if an applicant gets rejected during the FIU phase?

The structure of the Vanuatu DSP program allows applicants to pay an initial payment of $5,000 (US), which is the due diligence fee. The government donation only comes after the FIU approval is received.


Am I required to partake in any oath-taking ceremony?

Yes, but due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremonies are all conducted online.


What are the documents I receive after my citizenship is approved?

New citizens will be given their passports and citizenship certificates. Both documents will be handed over to you at one of our offices of your choosing. Alternatively, we can send them to you via courier.
